Photography 101

 

Photography 101 - Beginner

 

Whether you have a DSLR or a Point and Shoot, if you want to know the basics of photography and how to use your camera better, this course is for you. During thie entry level course, you will learn the importance of the exposure triangle, understand what F/Stops are, and learn about depth of field. You will also learn how to light subjects with inexpensive equipment and on camera flash.

 

This course is designed as a prerequisite for Photography 201, is approx. 1.5 hours in length, and comes with material handouts. This course can be taught individually or in a group. Group discounts are available. Learn More

 

Photography 201

 

Photography 201 - Intermediate

 

Have you been practicing non-stop and are ready to learn more, if so, this course is for you. This course serves as a prerequisite for Photography 301. In this course you will learn how to read a histogram and light meter, understand proper metering, and auto focusing features. We will also discuss topics such as correct exposures, white balance, color tempertures, and general rules of composition and lens aberation as well as how to choose the right lens.

Photography 301

 

Photography 301 - Advanced

 

Our advanced class is for photographers that would like to start learning and working with additional equipment and more advanced on-camera features. This course we will be discussing the differences of photography styles and categories and how it relates to choosing the proper equipment. We will be discussing braketing, off-camera flash, and timelapse photography. An introduction to DSLR video will be reviewed. Some other topics in this advance course that will be discussed are setting up an online portfolio, backing up your files offline and online, overview of what photography editing software is out there and the differences as well as how to get the most out of your printed work.

Photography 401

 

Photography 401 - Business Pro

 

If you have taken Photography 101 through 301 and are ready for the step or maybe you have been at the advanced level for a while and have been wanting to take the leap into professional photography, this course is the perfect transition. During this course we will discuss photography as a business and what it takes to get things started. You will receive guideline on setting up a professional website and displaying your portfolio online and in print, we will discuss how to set pricing and how to calculate your cost and profits for packages and hourly wages. You will receive the following templates for your own use to help you get started in your new business: Photo License Use Contracts, General Contracts and Releases. You will also receive information as well as a discount to help setup your own LLC. We also discuss taxes and insurances and how they best apply to your business.
